The Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia has received donation from the Vietnamese community in Slovakia to support the Vaccine Fund against COVID-19 in 2021.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia Nguyen Tuan made the statement at a recent ceremony to launch "Vietnam Day" in Bratislava by the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia in coordination with the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia.

This is the first time the event has been held on a large scale in Bratislava, which has special significance in the context of the Slovak Government preparing to officially recognize the Vietnamese community as the 14th ethnic minority in Slovakia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vo Phuong, chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, expressed his wish to build an increasingly prosperous, hard-working, knowledgeable, and intellectual community aimed at raising the image of Vietnamese people to new heights as a contribution to the ever-growing Vietnam-Slovakia relations.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia Nguyen Tuan highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, affirming that the Vietnamese community is growing stronger.

The community has received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for their achievements in mobilizing donations to support victims of floods in the Central region, establishing the Vaccine Fund, and providing medical equipment to prevent COVID-19.

The Vietnamese diplomat also congratulated the Congress of the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia on a great success, with a new executive committee, and believed that the new executive committee would support the growing and influential community in Slovakia.
