VietNamNet Bridge – Right after iPhone 4S hit the market in the US, smart phone traders in Hanoi and HCM City have begun taking orders for the products. Meanwhile, VinaPhone and Viettel, the two official iPhone distributors, still keep quiet.

A big banderole has been hung over the entrance door to Vu Quang Trung’s smart phone shop on Xuan Thuy street in Hanoi, which says that Trung is taking orders for iPhone 4S. The banderole has appeared right after the first iPhone 4S hit the US market, and Trung has admitted that he still cannot see iPhone 4S with his eyes.

Apple’s fans, who have the demand for iPhone 4S, just need to deposit five million dong and get a receipt. After several days, they need to return with the receipts to get iPhone 4S products and pay the remaining sums of money.

“We began taking orders for iPhone 4S three days ago. It is expected that the first iPhone 4S will be available on October 17, which will be delivered immediately to customers,” Trung said.

The ad pieces on iPhone 4S sale has also appeared on a lot of websites. Nguyen Thanh Long, an online smart phone trader, said that on October 8, he updated the information about six versions of iPhone 4S products on his website. He admitted that iPhone 4S have not arrived, but he knows that the demand is very high.

The HCM City market has also heated up with the information about the marketing of iPhone 4S. Tu, the owner of the shop specializing in distributing Apple’s products in district 3, also began taking orders two days ago. Tu said that he received calls to place orders one week ago, but he did not dare to take orders at that time, when he still did not have enough information about the products.

However, Tu said, he has contacted the suppliers to be sure that he can satisfy all the demand.

“Hi-tech players always want to become the first persons who own the wonderful products. Therefore, they tend to place orders very soon, and my job is to satisfy them,” Tu said.

Also according to Tu, just within two days, he got the five orders for iPhone 4S. Customers just have to pay a deposit of 2-5 million dong and they have been assured that they will get deliveries just in several days.

However, most of the shops are now just taking orders and making promises, while they cannot say for sure when the products will be available.

Especially, to date, customers still do not know anything about the prices of the products. Tu said he always has to warn customers that the official prices of the products have not been quoted and that customers need to think carefully before placing orders

“I hope that iPhone 4S would be available by the end of October, while the price would be around 20 million dong. However, the prices may change, depending on many other factors, including the tax, administrative procedures and other kinds of expenses,” he said.

Meanwhile, a lot of shops still keep thinking about whether to trade iPhone 4S. Some of them are worried that iPhone series’ attractiveness has been lessened as the iPhone’s father, Steve Jobs, has passed away.

“We dare not to take risks to take orders right now when we are still not sure about when the products would be available,” said Deputy General Director of Nhat Cuong Company Tran Quang Anh. However, Anh has affirmed that the company is taking necessary moves to import iPhone 4S to Vietnam as soon as possible.

While private distributors, who import products from different sources, have been very busy with the plan to sell iPhone 4S, VinaPhone and Viettel, the two official distributors of iPhones in Vietnam, still keep quiet. Sources say that iPhone 4s are the main products for the two distributors for now. Meanwhile, Apple, the partners of VinaPhone and Viettel, has not released the plan to supply iPhone 4S to them.
