Imaging gear to boost diagnoses at hospital
Cho Ray Hospital has installed new state-of-the-art cat-scan and angiography systems that can assist cardiologists and radiologists to diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological and cardiac diseases, including cancer, with greater efficiency and precision, according to Erdal Elver, general director of Siemens, which supplied the equipment.
The new imaging diagnostic systems would supply significant benefit to both patients and practitioners in terms of streamlining examination, diagnosis and treatment, Elver said.
These angiography systems are integrated with syngo DynaCT, a unique software that provides CT images at the table side of the angio system. As a result, it will help streamline the work flow during the interventional procedures, and offer substantial cost-savings and better patient care. Thanks to this advanced technology, there's no need for patients to move from interventional suites to the CT room while the hygienic environment for patients is ensured.
The SOMATOM Definition AS family installed at Cho Ray Hospital last week is the only CT to adapt to any patient and any clinical needs covering Cardiac, Neurology, Oncology, Paediatric, Obesity, and Trauma applications, transforming into what ever physicians need at their request, and enabling them to become an expert in any clinical field.
Using the lowest possible radiation dose is important to both physicians and patients; SOMATOM Definition AS 64 slice CT scanner provides an exceptional solution by adapting complete dose protection. It actively manages dose and removes clinically irrelevant radiation for every patient.
Siemens has supplied Cho Ray Hospital with a variety of high quality imaging diagnostic systems, which are significantly beneficial to medical workers and doctors in terms of examination, diagnosis and treatment. The new equipment will assist this hospital in providing better care for its patients.
