This year, Hanoi’s robot team, represented by the GART 6520 Robot Club of the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, represented Vietnam at the FRC Robotics competition, the world's largest robot competition for high school students, in the Asia and Pacific region.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the competition was held online. The Vietnamese team included 27 members, led by teachers Nguyen Van Bac and Pham Vu Bich Hang. The Vietnamese team competed with 31 teams, and won the prestigious award "Technical Design" in the category "Designing ", one of the four main contents of the competition.

GART 6520 was the 6520th team in the world and the only Vietnamese team participating in the event, which since 2017 has been considered the world's largest and most difficult Robotics competition for high school students.

Every year, the competition attracts more than 3,000 teams from 34 countries, which go through 2 rounds: the regional round and the world round.

So far, GART6520 team has achieved many successes at the FRC Robotics competition: Inspiring Rookie Award (2017), Top 12 excellent teams in digital animation (2019), the quarterfinals of the South Pacific region (2019), and the semi-finals of the STEM Leadership Award (2020, 2021).

The Robotics Club of the Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted named “GART 6520” (Green Ams Robotics Team) was established in 2016.

The Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted provided the club a 50m2 laboratory and appointed three experienced teachers, including a vice principal, as consultants for the club.

In the first year, GART 6520 had 20 members. At present it has recruited 80 official members.

Student wins prize for submarine robot invention
