The contest "I love my country’s sea and islands" attracted 90 students from junior high schools in Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province. Candidates competed in many knowledge contents through quick multiple choice questions combined with interesting and highly educational games.

On the morning of June 27, the High Command of the Coast Guard coordinated with the People's Committee of Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province to hold the contest "I love my country’s sea and islands".

The contest "I love my country’s sea and islands" aims to propagate and improve the understanding of the young people, students and local people about the sea and islands of Vietnam; the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; the Law of the Sea of Vietnam 2012; the Ordinance of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Vietnam Coast Guard; about the functions, duties and traditions of the Coast Guard.

The contest has contributed to building patriotism, love of the country’s sea and islands; to enhancing the responsibility of citizens, especially future generations for the cause of fighting to protect the sovereignty of the country's sacred seas and islands.

The contest also helps to train the skills to operate collective activities for cadres, members of youth union and women's union of the Coast Guard through practical activities.
