In the period of 2021 - 2025, Son La province is allocated more than 335 billion VND to invest in essential infrastructure in 126 extremely difficult communes and especially difficult villages in communes of regions I and II from the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. To date, nearly 213.8 billion VND has been disbursed.
Specifically, Son La authorities have built 158 water systems; provided water for 6,162 households, upgraded facilities, equipment, and teaching aids for 179 ethnic boarding and semi-boarding high schools; built 5 inter-commune road projects, 8 markets; maintained infrastructure in extremely difficult communes and villages.
The province has 97.55% of communes that are asphalted to the commune center; 78.49% of villages have hardened roads to the center; 100% of schools, classrooms, and medical stations are newly built; 94.88% of ethnic minorities having access to hygienic drinking water...
In late September, joy came to 95 Mong ethnic households in Huoi Tinh village, Bo Sinh commune, Song Ma district when the village's domestic water supply project was completed and put into use.
In June 2023, the people of Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district were also excited when the Commune Cultural House was put into use. The project has a total floor area of over 220m², a concrete roof, built at a total investment capital of over 2 billion VND from the sources of the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.
From 2021 to 2023, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Nhai district, Son La province has invested in essential infrastructure to serve production and life in ethnic minority areas; actively promoted emulation movements for economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, helping many members who are ethnic minorities to excel in life.
A representative of the Ethnic Committee of Son La province said that the committee advised the Provincial People's Committee to request ministries and central agencies to soon issue, amend and supplement specific and detailed circulars and guiding documents on implementation of projects, sub-projects, and component content of program so that localities have a basis for building detailed implementation plans.
The committee also requested the National Committee for Ethnic Minorities to advise the Government to soon approve and allocate funds to implement projects using development policy capital to support the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021 – 2030; have special policies to attract officials working on ethnic affairs at all levels, supplementing the payroll of civil servants working on ethnic affairs for communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas...;
Invest in essential infrastructure, serving production and life in ethnic minority areas, contributing to building socio-economic infrastructure to serve people's lives, promoting socio-economic development in particularly difficult communes and villages in the province.
