The RoK Culture Days is organised by the RoK Embassy and the Korean Culture Centre in Vietnam. It is among a series of activities to celebrate the 25th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

In the opening night on March 11, while the ancient town was lighted up by traditional lanterns of both the RoK and Hoi An, An Hoi Sculpture Garden gave visitors a chance to experience the Korean culture through handicrafts, cuisine, and costumes.

Highlights of the Culture Days include a paper Hanbok fashion show, Sachoom and Bibap performances – two types of contemporary musical of the RoK, and traditional singing and dancing performances.

Cultural, artistic and culinary identities of Hoi An and Quang Nam are also featured at the event.

RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Hyuk said the two countries boast a long-standing relationship which is being reinforced. Aside from economic partnerships, cultural cooperation is also becoming stronger.

The RoK Culture Days in Hoi An is a good opportunity for their cultural exchange.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Van Thanh considered the Days as important to the bilateral relations, noting that RoK visitors are increasingly interested in Hoi An and the event will help attract more tourists to this city.

Meanwhile, a RoK-Vietnam cultural exchange programme was held in Da Nang city on March 10. It also introduced the RoK’s traditional and modern culture through various performances.

Da Nang brought to this event Tuong (classical drama) and traditional dances performed by artists from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre.
