The Northeast Asian nation will also provide free advertisements for local tourism services companies organizing tours for female customers and launch a travel app in Vietnamese for tourists to South Korea.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam is running a campaign in which incentives such as free advertising will be offered to travel firms operating tours to beauty care stores and shopping centers for female guests to South Korea.
The first 5,000 customers buying such beauty tours will get a gift from KTO.
Besides, the tourism promotion agency of Seoul will launch a travel app in Vietnamese next month.
Tourists can download and install the app on their smartphones to search for information about tourism in Seoul.
From September to December 2017, KTO will assist Vietnamese travel firms in operating incentive and package tours worth VND14 million (US$616) or more for tourists staying in South Korea for two days or longer.
“At present, those tours costing about VND12 million per person are selling well, so we will shift focus to tours with higher prices and longer stays,” said Le Thi Thu Trang, marketing director of KTO’s office in Vietnam, at a Korea tourism promotion event in HCMC on September 15.
Data of KTO shows Vietnam is one of Korea’s key source markets as it has the highest growth rate in Asia, 20-49% a month. An estimated 234,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Korea in the first nine months of 2017, up 29.2% year-on-year.
KTO’s Vietnam office in coordination with Vietnam’s tour operator Vietravel and tourism firms from Seoul organized the Korea tourism festival at the Saigon Centre in District 1, HCMC on September 15 and 16. In addition to tourism promotion activities, the organizers offered promotional tours and presents to customers.
