VietNamNet Bridge – South Korean soprano Sung Hee Park and flute soloist Hyun Ju Ro will entertain Saigonese with Voices of Spring at 8 p.m. on March 9 at HCMC Opera House.

The night will take place under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Tran Vuong Thach and with the performance of HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra.

Artists will make audiences warm and happy in spring with classics such as Overture Light Cavalry from Franz von Suppé, Concerto for flute and orchestra in D Major, op. 283 by Carl Reinecke, Voices of Spring Waltz from Johann Strauss, Pietro Mascagni’s Intermezzo from opera Cavalleria Rusticana, Song to the Moon from opera “Rusalka” by Antonin Dvorak, Mozart’s Aria “Der hölle rache kocht in meinem Herzen” and Doll’s song from opera “The Tale of Hoffman” by Jacques Offenbach.

Park, widely regarded as a great musical talent who perfects a high tone with her own unique technique, has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She made her international debut in leading roles in the operas Cin Cilla and La Vedova in Italy. She has performed on the international stage at places such as South Korea, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Indonesia.

The award-winning Park graduated from Sun Hwa Arts School and Ehwa Womans University in Seoul and continued her studies at the Adria National Conservatory in Italy and became the first Asian to receive a doctorate from Corso Biennio. She also graduated from the Municipal Conservatory of Milano. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Ehwa Womans University, Mok Won University, Sun Hwa Arts High School and Kyunggi Arts High School in South Korea.

Ro came to the U.S. aged 16 and attended Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She continued her education at Hochschule fuer Musik Hamburg and received an ERASMUS scholarship to study in Vienna. She has had numerous solo recitals and chamber concerts not only in South Korea but also in Southeast Asia and Europe.

Currently she is the second flute of Seongnam Philharminic Orchestra and teaches at Seongnam Academy. She is also a member of Flute Choir with Love and Korea Flute Educators Association.

Tickets are priced at VND200,000, VND350,000 and VND400,000 per person and just VND80,000 for students and are available at the Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square in District 1.
