VietNamNet Bridge – Golfer Jang An-soo from South Korea took the men's title at the Movenpick Charity Golf Tournament 2011 at Song Be Golf Resort in Binh Duong Province over the weekend.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Park Chong-sook won the women's trophy.

There were prizes given for ‘nearest to the pin' and ‘longest drive' but no one bagged the hole-in-one prize of a BMW X1 sedan.

Benefits from the event will be given to KOTO (an organisation offering training and hospitality skills to disadvantaged children) and Heartbeat Viet Nam (a fund dedicated to providing cardiac treatment to poor Vietnamese.)

More than 140 players, including regional executives, diplomats and expatriates living in Viet Nam, took part in the tournament organised by the Movenpick Sai Gon and Ha Noi hotels.

* Trong speeds to 125cc race victory

Racer Pham Chi Trong of the RebelUSA Racing Team won the seventh National 125cc Motorcycle Race, National Top Clubs Cup, in An Giang Province over the weekend.

An Giang's Phan Van Loc came second, while Loc's team-mate Tran Nguyen Lien Phuong finished third.

Despite Vu Trong Bang appearing for Viet Nam's first professional RebelUSA125cc motorcycling team, he failed to record a win.

Bang is the only racer in Viet Nam to have trained professionally in Spain, setting a record by maintaining national titles during three consecutive years from 1994 to 1996.

The event, organised annually by the Viet Nam Cycling Federation, attracted thousands of spectators to the Long Xuyen Stadium.

At the same event held in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta city of Can Tho last year, Tran Ngoc Sang of HCM City took the title.
