VietNamNet Bridge – A man in Hanoi has converted an old bus into a café and is attracting a steady of curious patronage.

Trinh Quoc Van, 35, has parked the “Bus Café”, built from a 48-seat passenger bus, in the parking lot of a supermarket along Nguyen Trai Road in Thanh Xuan District.

Van said he had seen a similar café when he lived overseas and thought it would work in Hanoi.

The 25- square-metre café, which can seat 30, has become an attractive venue for those who love creativeness, especially students, and Van serves his coffee at a relatively cheap VND20,000 a cup.

“The bus café has been opened for a short time but welcomes around 100 customers daily, mainly during the evening,” one staff at the shop said.

Van said he had invested more than VND200m on the café and plans to add another deck, with other Bus Cafés planned for locations near universities around Hanoi.
