The store, which is located at 66, Dong Da District’s Chua Lang Street, has been resumed after a long closure due to Covid-19. It is also the first of its kind that has sprung up in the city.
The library on the second floor has hundreds of books.
Every day, many people come there to read books.
Dinh Duy Thien, a fourth-year student of the Hanoi University of Transpiration and Communications, said that the library has diversified books and nice space. The staff are also very friendly.
The room not only gives young readers books but also serves drinks and fruits for free.
Do Viet Thao, the founder the library, said that he and his wife have the passion for books. They use the first floor of the house for selling cosmetics, while the second floor for the library which is designed to look like a coffee shop to attract customers.
Nguyen Thanh Hai from Dong Da District said that she hopes that more libraries of this kind will be established in Hanoi.
A free hot-and-cold water dispenser is always ready to serve the needy.
A free clothes cabinet for the poor is also in the house with the slogan “Take what you need; Give if you can”.
