Starting June 26, Vietnam Railways Corporation will put into operation the "Bach Mai Train", a dedicated rail service designed to transport employees of Bach Mai Hospital between its Hanoi campus and its new facility in Ninh Binh.

The service is being introduced as Bach Mai Hospital's Ninh Binh campus prepares to begin operations.

According to Vietnam Railways leadership, preparations for the new service are being accelerated, with operating plans, rolling stock, staffing and safety measures being finalised ahead of launch.

Infrastructure management units have been instructed to inspect railway safety corridors, review rail-road crossings and improve environmental conditions and landscaping along the Hanoi-Phu Ly route.

Meanwhile, Hanoi, Giap Bat and Phu Ly stations have been tasked with completing passenger boarding and drop-off arrangements, as well as transfer plans, before June 25.

The official launch ceremony for the Bach Mai Train will take place on the morning of June 26 at Hanoi Station.

The train service, operating under route numbers PL1 and PL2, will stop only at three stations: Hanoi, Giap Bat and Phu Ly.

Each weekday, train PL1 will depart Hanoi Station at 6:15am, stop at Giap Bat Station and arrive at Phu Ly Station at 7:22am.

Upon arrival in Phu Ly, medical personnel will be transferred by shuttle buses to Bach Mai Hospital's Ninh Binh campus.

For the return journey, train PL2 will leave Phu Ly Station at 5:20pm and arrive back in Hanoi at 6:30pm, serving doctors, nurses and hospital employees after work.

According to Vietnam Railways' plan, the PL1/PL2 service will operate from Monday to Friday each week on the Hanoi-Phu Ly route and vice versa.
