VN women set for easy draw
Viet Nam's national women's team have been favoured in the draw for the ASEAN Football Federation's regional football championship in October in Laos.
Viet Nam were drawn in Group A with Indonesia, Singapore and Laos while Group B includes Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
The defending champions are expected to take the top place, with the two best teams advancing to the knockout round.
Meanwhile Thailand and Myanmar will compete for the top position in Group B.
Golfers raise millions for students
Organisers of the Swing for the Kids, a golf charity tournament, has presented VND600 million (US$28,500) to the Viet Nam Study Encouragement Fund to support poor students and children with difficulties.

The tournament organisers will directly use the remaining money as scholarships for children from the recently flooded central provinces.
The annual event, which is organised by the Viet Nam Investment Review, saw the champion title going to Nguyen Van Chung who scored 81 with a handicap of six.
Lam re-elected as AFF deputy
Viet Nam Football Federation's deputy chairman Duong Vu Lam was re-elected as the Deputy Chairman of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) after its meeting at the weekend in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lam and Francisco Kalbuadi of East Timor, Viphet Sihachakr of Laos and Brigadier General Khiev Sameth from Cambodia are deputy chairmen for the 2011-15 term. Malaysia's Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah was voted chairman.
VFF's general secretary Tran Quoc Tuan won a seat on the Asian Football Confederation's executive committee at the 24th AFC Congress in January.
Seniors to tee off at Twin Doves
Around 80 golfers will tee off at the Viet Nam Senior Championship in the southern province of Binh Duong on April 21-23, the Viet Nam Golf Association announced yesterday, April 13.
Competitors will compete in 36-hole strokeplay in two rounds at Twin Doves golf course.
Last year, Duong Thanh won the title at Dong Mo District's King's Island course.
