Viet Nam football team to play against Mozambique

Viet Nam's national football team will play a friendly match against Mozambique on June 23 at the Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM City.

The footballers will gather on June 19 to prepare for the match.

This will be a good opportunity for the team to warm up for the ASEAN Football Federation Cup 2012, which will take place in Thailand and Malaysia at the end of this year.

Evason Ana Mandara beach resort Sailing Cup to kick off

More than 40 Vietnamese and foreigners from Nha Trang and HCM City will compete in the Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang Sailing Cup this weekend.

They will sail in three stages over 4km, from April 2 Square to Ana Mandara beach resort.

The tournament forms part of the Viet Nam Regatta Series that includes events in Vung Tau in March, Nha Trang in June, HCM City in September and Phan Thiet in December.

Giang wins bronze medal at Asian athletics champs

Le Trong Giang won a bronze medal in the men's 3,000m steeplechase at the 15th Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Sri Lanka.

He finished the race in a time of 9:22.28. This was the only medal of the Vietnamese delegation at the tournament which wrapped up on Tuesday.
