Viet Nam's men's and women's teams lost to China in the fifth round of the standard event at the Asian Nations Chess Cup in China on Tuesday.

They will next compete against Chinese Taipei.
China 1 top the standings after five rounds, with No 3 seeds Viet Nam in fifth out of 14 teams.
The women's team lost by the same margin as the men to China 2. Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Thanh An and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung all managed to scrape out draws against their Chinese opponents, but Pham Bich Ngoc lost to Wang Chue.
Off-road racing heads to Viet Nam
The first off-road racing championship in the country, the Ha Long Challenger 2012, will be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh on June 2-3.
The event will draw the participation of 20 teams, including 40 car racers from Ha Noi and HCM City.
Participants will be divided into under 2,000cc, 2,000-3,000cc, and over 3,000cc categories and race over six increasing stages of difficulty.
Luis JA Wee, founder of the Rainforest Challenge in Malaysia, will be technical consultant during the two-day event, according to Tran Manh Hung, chairman of the Ha Noi Off-road Club (HOC) and a member of the event's organising board.
The tournament is co-organised by the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the HOC.
K+ to broadcast Euro 2012 live
Kplus, a subsidiary of Viet Nam Television (VTV) and French station Canal Plus, will broadcast the European Football Championship Euro 2012 live on K+1 and K+NS channels in both standard and high definition.
Vietnamese TV viewers nationwide will be able to watch Euro 2012 from June 8th until July 2nd with premium quality digital service.
The championships will be played in Poland and Ukraine.
Athletes prepare for junior games
Eleven Vietnamese athletes will take part in the 15th Asian Junior Athletics Championships from June 9-12 in Sri Lanka.
In the boys' categories, polt-vaulter Le Hong Huu, high jumper Nguyen Huu Thai, long jumper Nguyen Van Thuan, and runners Le Trong Giang and Nguyen Anh Tu will all be vying for medals.
In the girls' categories, Nguyen Thi Huyen will take part in the 400m hurdles while Nguyen Thi Quynh and Dang Thi Thu Suong will be leaping for gold in the high jump and long jump. Nguyen Thi Lien and Nguyen Thi Hai will both compete in the 3,000m steeplechase.
The four-day tournament is expected to attract more than 900 athletes from 36 countries.
AVC publishes championships draw
The Asian Volleyball Confederation has published the draw for the 2012 Asian Men's Club Championships.
The tournament will be held from June 30 to July 8 in Shanghai, China. Teams will be seeded in accordance with their ranking at the last tournament.
No 8 seeds Viet Nam will join the hosts, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates in Group A. No 1 seeds Iran are in Group B with Qatar, Uzbekistan and Myanmar. Group C is made up of Kazakhstan, Indonesia, India and Kuwait, while Group D comprises of Japan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Singapore and Mongolia.
