Linh and Ngoc win national archery championships
Nguyen Phuong Linh from Ha Noi won a gold medal in the women's recurve (one-stringed bow) at the ongoing National Archery Championships in the Ha Noi-based National Sports Centre at the weekend.
She scored a total point of 1,235 in the 70m, 60m, 50m and 30m disciplines. Linh's teammate Loc Thi Dao and Tran My Phuong of HCM City were the runners-up with 1,227 and 1,184 points, respectively.
In the women's compound (three-stringed bow), Phu Tho's Sa Thi Anh Ngoc won gold with 1,318 points, followed by Nguyen Thi Tuong Vy of Vinh Long and Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong of Ha Noi with 1,293 and 1,287 points, respectively.
The event, organised by the Viet Nam Shooting Federation, will conclude tomorrow, April 27.

It was the host's first loss in the event, and meant they lost top spot to Ha Noi Trang An 1, who have 10 points.
The first leg of the tournament will conclude tomorrow and the second leg will run from July 2 to 20.
The team with the most points after both rounds will take home VND200 million (US$10,000) in prize money, double last year's award.
The two runners-up will pocket VND100 million ($5,000) and VND50 million ($2,500).
Viet Nam face Indonesia at Asian Club tournament
The Viet Nam national volleyball team will meet Indonesia in the opener of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in Palembang, Indonesia, on July 24.
The team have drawn in Group A with Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Japan, China and Indonesia in a round robin format.
Group B will see Kazakhstan, Thailand, Qatar, Turmenistan, Iran and Myanmar compete for two semi-final berths.
It's a crucial test for Viet Nam team in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia in November.
The Volleyball Federation of Viet Nam has called up key players Nguyen Huu Ha and Ngo Van Kieu for the national squad.
The pair helped Viet Nam bag a silver medal at the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in 2007.
The team will be coached by Brazilian coach Augusto Sabbatini from next month.
