Hoa vrooms to victory in junior motorbike race

Le Huy Hoa of the Thanh Dat Racing Boy Club won the trophy at the Viet Nam Motor Cub Prix, which wrapped up at central Da Nang City's Military Zone 5 Stadium over the weekend.

Hoa's teammate Nguyen Viet Linh clinched the second prize while the third went to Vu Trong Bang from the RebelUSA Racing club, the only racer in Viet Nam to have trained professionally in Spain.

The 125cc motorcycle race, which attracted 32 professional athletes from across the country including Tran Ngoc Sang, Pham Chi Trong and Ma Kim So, was organised by the Viet Nam Cycling Federation.

Duc strikes gold at youth airgun tourney

HCM City's Le Huynh Tuan Duc won a gold medal in the 16 year old boy's 10m air rifle category at the ongoing National Youth Airgun Tournament held at the National Sports Centre in Ha Noi on Monday.

Nguyen Chi Cong of Vinh Phuc and Nguyen Ngan Lam of HCM City were runners-up.

Team gold went to Vinh Phuc with a total 881 points.

In the 18 year old boy's 10m air rifle category, Vu Xuan Truong of Army team defeated Phan Huu Duc of Hai Duong and Hoan Van Thang of Vinh Phuc in the race for gold.

The event, which attracted around 100 athletes from across the country, will draw to an end tomorrow, July 28.

World Cup qualifier tickets go on sale

Tickets for the second-leg match between the Vietnamese football team and Qatar, part of the second round of qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, went on sale in Ha Noi yesterday, July 26.

Fans will be able to buy tickets at the My Dinh National Stadium, the Hang Day Stadium and online at www.aleale.com.vn.

Each person will be allowed to buy up to four tickets.

Viet Nam, who lost to Qatar by 3-0 in their first leg match at the Al Saad Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday, will meet their rivals at the My Dinh Stadium at 19.15 tomorrow, July 28.
