As many as 11 Vietnamese athletes with disabilities will be taking part in the London Paralympics from August 29 to September 9 in England.
They will compete in track-and-field, weightlifting and swimming.
Nguyen Thi Hai will participate in the women's track-and-field event, while Cao Ngoc Hung and Trinh Cong Luan will compete in the men's discus.
In weightlifting, Nguyen Van Phuc will take part in the men's 48kg category, Nguyen Thi Hong will compete in the women's 40kg, and Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan and Nguyen Binh An will be in the women and men's 52 kg, respectively.
Meanwhile, Vo Thanh Tung, Duong Thi Lan, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu and Nguyen Thanh Trung will be looking for swimming honours.
The Vietnamese delegation will attend a 20-day training course in Iceland from July 20 before leaving for London, where they will also undergo 15 days further training before moving to the Paralympic village on August 24.

Nguyen Thi Mai Hung and Doan Thi Van Anh won their third round matches in the girls' U18 group and ranked second and 13th, respectively.
In the boys' U18 group, Tran Tuan Minh surprisingly lost to Abdullah Al-Saif from Bangladesh, who has a lower Elo rating. He temporarily stands at 14th position with one point after three rounds.
In the boys' U16 group, Le Tuan Minh lost to India's Sahoo Utkal Ranjan and now ranks fourth. His teammate Lu Tuan Hung beat Akhmetov Ayan from Kazakhstan and is temporarily in 13th place.
In the girls' U16 group, Hoang Thi Hai Anh defeated Mariyam Rafaa Abdul Latheef from Maldives, but only took eighth position.
In the remaining events, the Vietnamese tried to improve their positions in the rankings, but still finished outside the top three.
Vietnamese shuttlers to attend Asian U19 champs
Eight Vietnamese shuttlers will be taking part in the Asian Youth Under-19 Badminton Championships in Gimcheon City, South Korea from Saturday.
The tournament has attracted 16 teams, including the best in the world from China, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia.
The Vietnamese representatives are Pham Hong Nam, Do Tuan Duc, Ngo Xuan Tu, Pham Cao Cuong, in men's event; and Pham Nhu Thao, Le Thu Huyen, Dinh Thi Phuong Hong and Thai Vuong Nhi, in the women's competition.
On Saturday, they will participate in the team competition. Viet Nam have been drawn in Group D with China and Japan.
The tourney will wrap up next Saturday.
Vuong wins men's air rifle event
Ngo Huu Vuong, representing the national team, won a gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle running target mixed event with 378 points at the National Outstanding Shooters tournament in Ha Noi yesterday, June 27.
His teammate Tran Hoang Vu finished second to earn a silver medal with 374 points and Do Duc Hung from the Military was in third, gaining a bronze medal with 371 points.
In the men's 10m air rifle event, Nguyen Duy Hoang from the Military finished first with 683.6 points, followed by his teammate Nguyen Van Chuong (682) and Phan Quang Vinh from HCM City (678.3).
Nguyen Thi Hang from Hai Duong topped the women's 25m rifle (3x20 shots) event with 676.3 points. Nguyen Thi Phuong from the Military and Nguyen Thi Xuan from Ha Noi came in second and third with 672 and 667.6, respectively.
The Military retained the overall lead in the rankings with seven gold, eight silver and four bronze medals, followed by the national team and Hai Duong.
