Volleyball players ready for My Khe Beach challenge

The top beach volleyball teams from around the country would compete in the National Beach Volleyball Championships at Da Nang's My Khe Beach from May 30 to June 2, the Volleyball Federation of Viet Nam (VFV) confirmed yesterday.

Fifteen women's and 13 men's teams will be drawn in four groups in each division, with the top two teams qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The VFV hopes that the championships will be an opportunity to find new talent to represent the national team.

Motorcyclists set to race in Da Nang at VN Club Prix

Motorcyclists from 19 clubs nationwide will be racing in the Viet Nam Motor Club Prix at Da Nang's Military Zone 5 Stadium on June 25, the organising committee announced yesterday.

An estimated 30 motorcyclists are set to race their 125cc motorcycles in the two-stroke and four-stroke engine categories for a total cash-prize of VND50 million (US$2,400).

Last year's race in Da Nang drew 48 amateur racers.

The organising committee will also host a street circuit race in the city with the participation of racers from Thailand, Malaysia and the hosts.

Sanna Khanh Hoa win beach football champs

Sanna Khanh Hoa easily beat Thuan An 4-2 on Sunday to top the fourth National Beach Football Championships in Nha Trang City.

They also beat Thuan An 1-3 in the qualification round.

Sanna Khanh Hoa won VND80 million (US$3,800) and their player, Trang Quoc Hoang, was awarded Best Goalkeeper. Thuan An received VND25 million ($1,200). Their team-mate Nguyen Van Hien won Best Player.

Tran Van Hung of Pymepharco Phu Yen was named top scorer with eight goals.
