Minh gets No 7 seed at China Open
Viet Nam's top player Nguyen Tien Minh is seeded No 7 at the Li Ning China Open 2012 on November 13-18 in Shanghai, China.

The top three seeds in the tournament are Chen Long and Chen Jin of China and Simon Santoso of Indonesia.
According to a draw result published by the World Badminton Federation yesterday, Minh will play against Rajiv Ouseph from England in the first round. The Vietnamese player and his rival have climbed one step in the latest world rankings. Minh now ranks No 10 while Ouseph is in 27th place.
If he defeats the English player, Minh will go on to compete against the winner of the match between Sweden's Henri Hurskainen and India's Parupalli Kashyap.
HCM City to host SEA fencing champs
The Southeast Asian (SEA) Fencing Championships will be held in HCM City from November 11-18.
Fencers from 11 different countries will compete in the event.
The tournament is a chance for teams to hone their skills in preparation for the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar next year.
National gymnastics championships begins
The National Gymnastics Championships 2012 opened at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi on October 30.
The event has attracted 40 athletes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong and the Army who will compete for 14 sets of medals in the uneven bars, pommel horse, high bar, parallel bars, balance beam and still rings.
The championships will continue through October 31.
Thien, Nam to play in South Korea
Two of Viet Nam's top junior tennis players will compete in the Seogwipo Asia/Oceania Closed International Junior Tennis Championships next month.
Nguyen Hoang Thien and Ly Hoang Nam will be hoping to make an impression at the tournament, which will run from November 6-11 in Jeju, South Korea.
Thien is 135th in the world youth rankings and will be seeded 10th in the competition, while Nam, who is 295th, is ranked 27th seed.
The favourite to claim the trophy is the host's Hyeon Chung, who is 20th in the world youth rankings.
