Hoang Anh Gia Lai plan to make big changes in personnel in the coming season, as 12 players have been removed from their squad list.

The V-League side have decided to filter their team after a poor result in the 2013-14 season, finishing at No 9, out of 12 teams.

The out-of-use list includes both unknown players, such as Thanh Tuan and Minh Hoang, as well as key members Nguyen Quy Suu, Duong Van Pho and Phung Van Nhien.

Also, Doan Nguyen Duc, owner of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, has created a plan to push their U19 generation to compete in the national premier league next season.

Their U19s include Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Tran Huu Dong Trieu, who contribute the most to the current national U19 squad.

Earlier, Hoang Anh Gia Lai ended their contract with South Korean coach Choi Yoon-gyum.

YBA golf tournament ready to kick off in HCM City

The fourth YBA Golf Tournament is scheduled to commence today in Thu Duc Golf Course in District 9 in HCM City.

The annual charity event is expected to attract 250 golfers who are entrepreneurs competing in five divisions.

Anyone who manages to hit a hole-in-one will walk away with an apartment worth about VND4 billion (US$190,000), and a cash prize of VND500 million.

The tournament aims to raise funds for building houses for poor fishermen.

Becamex Binh Duong football team wins V-League Cup

Vietnam professional football (VPF) company hosted an award ceremony at Hoa Binh (Peace) Theater in Ho Chi Minh City on August 20, to honor individuals and teams, who brought outstanding achievements for Vietnamese football during football season of 2013-2014.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy General Director of the General Department of Sports Pham Van Tuan and leaderships of Vietnam football federation (VFF), Vietnam professional football (VPF) company. In addition, Japanese League chairman Mitsuru Murai also attended in the gala.

At the award ceremony, VPF handed over V-League Cup for Becamex Binh Duong football team and National Cup for Hai Phong team.

Besides, awards for the best men’s football player went to attacker Anh Duc, and the best football coach belonged to Nguyen Thanh Son from Becamex Binh Duong team.

Awards for the best young football player offered Tran Minh Vuong, meanwhile, striker Hoang Vu Samson from Ha Noi T&T team received the title for football players scored the most goals.

VPF also awarded the title of the best umpire in 2014 to Nguyen Trong Thu.
