A press conference to launch Miss Sport, a long-standing beauty contest for young girls who love sport, was held on April 25 in HCMC after a five-year break.


The contest, organized by Nam Huong Corporation, aims to develop sport among young people especially women. Miss Sport is looking for young women with a beautiful appearance, strong body and intelligence and to call on the community to join in sporting activities.

Vietnamese girls aged between 18 and 26 are invited to take part in the pageant which will be set up like a reality show with three auditions in Hanoi, Danang and HCMC in June to seek 20 finalists for the final round in August.

The chosen beauties will be filmed in HCMC and be rated on different areas such as body measurements, costume parade (evening gown, swimsuit and sportswear) and sports exercise with music and Q&A on the role of sport in society.

Prior to the coronation night on August 4, contestants will have a ten-day training course on physical condition and talent at the common house at Ba Na Hill Resort in Danang City. The top three will be nominated for international beauty contests. There are extra prizes for Miss Perfect Skin, Miss Fashion, Miss Perfect Body and Miss Talent, among others.
