With a relatively short race distance, teams adopted an aggressive approach from the outset, executing clearly defined tactics. The pace remained consistently high, creating a dynamic contest marked by continuous attacks and chases throughout the stage.
In the battle for the green jersey, foreign rider Marchuk Dzianis of Kenda Dong Nai delivered a standout performance by winning both intermediate sprint points. He then secured a third-place finish at the stage’s end, allowing him to overtake Tran Tuan Kiet of Ho Chi Minh City Police to claim the green jersey.
Meanwhile, riders from Vinh Long demonstrated clear ambition by forming a strong support system for their foreign teammate Zachary Patrick Patterson. Backed effectively by his team, Patterson launched a powerful sprint to win the stage in dramatic fashion, simultaneously taking the yellow jersey from Sergei Kulikov of Loc Troi Group An Giang.
In the secondary classifications, Nguyen Van Binh of Ho Chi Minh City Vinama successfully retained the orange jersey awarded to the best Vietnamese rider, while Lam Gia Hao of Dong Thap 2 continued to hold the white jersey for the best young rider.
According to the schedule, the race will move into stage 4 on April 6, covering 114 km from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa.
