The show is inspired by a rhapsody of colours with Sri Lankan handloom fabric “invading” Vietnamese design space by Sri Lankan designer Dhamique Amarasekara.
The event expects to showcase the perfect blend of Viet Nam – Sri Lanka fashion, spectacularly through the delivery of talented models, representing a wide range of ages, skin colours and shapes.
The Sri Lankan weaving industry has a history of nearly three thousand years, and even today Sri Lankan hand loom products portray their rich heritage and cultural diversity in their designs and technologies.
The event, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam Celebrating Friendship through Fashion, is part of farewell activities for Ambassador Hasanthi Dissanayake during her term in Viet Nam. — VNS
