VietNamNet Bridge - Chief of organizing board of Binh Duong FC’s stadium, Mai Ngoc Khoa was Monday given a warning by his club for involving in a quarrel with an abusive fan on stadium stands on Saturday.

Khoa left his technical area and jumped over the fence to engage in a bitter argument with an angry fan who abused players and officials of Binh Duong for the heavy home loss of 1-4 to Song Lam Nghe An.

Some sources reported that he slapped the fan, but he denied it, saying he just argued with the man and the two jostled each other.

After the closing whistle of the match of the eighth round, a group of Binh Duong fans lingered in the stands and verbally insulted goalkeeper The Anh and even his father.

Witnessing the scene, Khoa rushed to the stands to confront the fan.

“I know the man who has bothered the players and team officials with streams of invectives during the last four matches at home,” Khoa told Tuoi Tre.

He defended that he just came to ask the man to stop insulting the team at the time they needed support and sympathy to recover from the loss.

“But surprisingly, he said he will insult me too if I continue to defend the team.

“I told him ‘I’m your father’s age and will hit you if you abuse me.’”

Binh Duong players verified that Khoa did not hit the fan.
