VietNamNet Bridge –A resolution on "vote of confidence" procedures relating to officials elected or approved by the National Assembly or People's Councils is expected to be adopted at the 14th meeting of the NA Standing Committee, which began in Ha Noi yesterday, Jan 14.

During the three-day meeting, will discuss five bills, including the revised land and science and technology laws, the laws on national defence and security education, anti-terrorism and natural disaster prevention.

The committee will also discuss decrees on art activities and regulations for recognising traditional and anniversary days in Viet Nam, as well as activities of the State Audit of Viet Nam.

Discussing the bill on national defence and security education, most NA deputies agreed national defence and security education should be in a military environment.

Viet Nam has 32 national defence and security education centres, of which 18 are managed by the Ministry of National Defence and 14 are managed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The centres provide training for 280,000-320,000 students and 24,000 staff and cadres each year.

Deputies suggested the law should regulate the functions of national defence and security education centres and the management responsibilities of related ministries and branches.

The Government has plans to perfect the national defence and security education system, based on existing human resources, infrastructure and facilities of the Ministry of National Defence.

The committee also discussed the anti-terrorism law.
