Positioned as a premium coffee outlet in Vietnam, the Starbucks Reserve store located on Han Thuyen Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, will officially close its doors on August 26th.
Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen was the only Reserve store in Ho Chi Minh City, known for offering high-end coffee flavors brewed by coffee masters.
In 2021, Starbucks Vietnam also closed one of its most prime-location stores at the Rex Hotel, near Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
Currently, the only remaining Starbucks Reserve store in Vietnam is located on Nha Tho Street in Hanoi.
Having been in operation for seven years and consistently drawing crowds, the closure of Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen has attracted significant attention. Despite shutting down this location, Starbucks Vietnam has indicated that it will soon return at another location.
While the official closure announcement did not specify the reason, according to a VietNamNet investigation, Starbucks failed to reach an agreement to renew its lease for the space.
The Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen store is housed in a building with an 8.5-meter frontage, consisting of one ground floor and two upper floors. The location is prime, situated directly across from 30/4 Park and not far from the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon.
According to H.T.N., a real estate broker in District 1, the landlord is currently offering the space for rent at VND 750 million per month (approximately USD 31,500). Tenants are offered a one-month rent-free period for renovations and can move in starting next month.
N. added that according to the information provided to brokers, if tenants sign a five-year lease, they must place a three-month deposit. For a ten-year lease, a six-month deposit is required.
After 11 years in Vietnam, as of May this year, Starbucks has a total of 108 stores. In Ho Chi Minh City, the American coffee chain has stores in prime locations such as Starbucks New World, Starbucks Nguyen Hue, Starbucks Mplaza, Starbucks Landmark 81, and Starbucks Midtown Phu My Hung.
