VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has proposed two plans for the 2015 Lunar New Year holiday to the Prime Minister, with 7 or 9 days off.

Option 1: Public servants will have the Lunar New Year holiday from 15/2/2015 through 23/2/2015. They will work on Saturday February 14 to take Monday, February 23 off.

Option 2: Public servants will be absent from work from Wednesday, February 18 to Tuesday, February 24.

However, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said the first option is better because state employees will have equal holiday time before and after Tet (4 days and 5 days).

The Ministry said that the first plan had also received high consensus from relevant bodies because it is appropriate with the customs and practices of Vietnam and aspirations of workers. Therefore, the Ministry recommended the first option.

For the coming 2015 New Year holidays, the Ministry has proposed a four day vacation from January 1 to 4, 2015 and workers will work on Saturday, December 27, 2014.
