This is defined as an inter-sectoral organization with the function of helping the Prime Minister to research, direct, and coordinate in solving important issues related to the implementation of the Government’s Resolution 11 on the socio-economic recovery and development program and the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 43 on fiscal and monetary policies to support socio-economic development (Resolution No.11).
The committee will help the prime minister resolve key issues related to the program and the deployment of an aid package worth nearly VND350 trillion with fiscal and monetary policies for the country’s economic recovery and development, the local media reported.
It will also study and propose solutions to deal with important and inter-sector issues, ensuring the smooth cooperation among ministries, ministerial agencies, other agencies under the Government and localities.
The committee consists of Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Minister of Finance Vo Thanh Hung and Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Thanh Ha, who are deputy heads of the steering committee, and leaders of many ministries and agencies.
Members of the Steering Committee include: Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Deputy Chairman of the Government Office Mai Thi Thu Van; Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep; Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Anh Tuan; Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan; Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet; Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Quy Kien; Deputy Inspector General of the Government Tran Ngoc Liem; Standing Member of the National Assembly’s Finance and Budget Committee Le Hoang Anh; Director of the Planning and Investment Department, Ministry of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy; and General Director of the Bank for Social Policies Duong Quyet Thang.
The committee has to report to the prime minister every month, quarter, six months and year or as required by the prime minister.
