As of 10:30 PM on November 6, rainfall had ceased in the Quy Nhon Ward area, but strong winds continued to howl violently.

With sustained winds reaching level 9-10 and gusts up to level 15, Storm Kalmaegi ravaged the area for hours, knocking down hundreds of trees along Nguyen Tat Thanh, An Duong Vuong, and Xuan Dieu streets. Even large, lush trees were no match for the storm’s brutal force.

Numerous streetlights along these main roads were also bent or broken. Metal roofs, signage from restaurants, and traffic signs were torn apart and left scattered across the streets.

Initial reports confirm that Storm Kalmaegi caused extensive property damage. Across many streets in Quy Nhon Ward, the aftermath reveals scenes of devastation and ruin.

Local residents recounted how, when the storm made landfall, rain poured down like a waterfall and howling winds roared as though intent on tearing everything apart.

At the forward command post of the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, the storm ripped off the roof of the vehicle garage and flung air conditioning units to the ground. Several large trees in the complex were also uprooted.

Power outages affected the entire area for several hours, and internet connections were disrupted, making it difficult to communicate with key regions within the province.

A prominent tourism landmark in Quy Nhon was also destroyed by the powerful gusts.
