VietNamNet Bridge – Thousands of bamboo-made electric poles have become threats for drivers on National Highway 32 for nearly ten years.

Power has been supplied to Binh hamlet in Tan Son district of Phu Tho province since 2000 but only half of 180 households are provided with electricity to their home.

The remaining families had to build electric poles to take power to their houses. They are poor farmers so they can only afford to build electric poles by bamboo.

These poles are very dangerous for drivers on National Highway 32 because they can fall in masses if one of them is hit.

A local man, Hoang Van Hanh, said that local people were very worried of accidents caused by these poles during the rainy and stormy season.

These poles look like a fence that separates the road from villages.
