VietNamNet Bridge – Planting Japanese grass has become a lucrative job of farmers in Nam Dien commune in the northern province of Nam Dinh.

The grass ground of Nam Dien farmers is on the Red River bank. Before this job was imported, local farmers usually grew peanut, maize or mulberry.

Grass is bound in sheaves.

Local farmers harvest grass twice a year. Grass is cut in square pieces of around one square meter, depending on customers’ request.

Farmers start their day in the early morning, when the sun does not rise yet. They finish their job at around 10am.
