VietNamNet Bridge – Cua Nam Street in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi is the home to mannequin shops.

All kinds of mannequins are available: from long-legged female mannequins to male and kid mannequins.
Mannequins are priced from VND500,000 ($25) to VND2 million ($100). Some imported products
of high quality are more expensive. However, mannequins of around VND1 million ($50) sell well.

This product sold like hot cakes before Tet holiday.

Baby mannequins are priced from VND500,000 to VND700,000/product.

Mannequin shops also sell accessories like wigs and clothes-hangers.

A seller says that mannequins are produced locally or imported from China and South Korea.
Sellers often make up mannequins before sales.

Nguyen Thi Hanh, the owner of a fashion shop in Ha Dong district, said she often
changes mannequins once a year.

However, some people complain that it is obscene to display naked mannequins on the street.

Thu, who runs a mannequin shop on Cua Nam Street, says that she sells mannequins, not
clothes so mannequins must be displayed naked to enable customers to choose suitable ones.

In 2009, HCM City authorities issued a decision that bans the use of mannequins
to advertise underwear at public sites or front-street shops. However, Hanoi does not ban this.
