the Vietnam Coast Guard has cooperated with the Ministry of Defence’s Foreign Relations Agency to organize short training courses.

On July 23-24, leaders and representatives of agencies and units; officers engaged in foreign affairs and other personnel involved in the performance of duties related to foreign activities of Vietnam the Coast Guard attended a training course, organized by the Foreign Affairs Agency of the Ministry of Defense and the International Relations Department of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

The short-term course will equip attendants with contents of the foreign policies of Vietnam and of the Ministry of National Defense; skills and knowledge of protocol on defense foreign affairs; the issues of concerns when working with foreigners; foreign affairs issues of the Coast Guard and procedures for organizing overseas business trips in the Coast Guard.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Colonel Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: Over the past time, the High Command of the Coast Guard has overcome difficulties, made every effort to basically complete the assigned international cooperation tasks, step by step expanding international cooperation with many partners, making important contributions to law enforcement, performing duties at sea, protecting the sovereignty, sovereignty rights and jurisdiction of Vietnam at sea.

The organization of the Coast Guard’s International Relations Department has been increasingly strengthened. However, in response to the requirements of the current international cooperation activities, many cadres and staff of the International Relations Department of the Coast Guard have not been properly trained, resulted in certain difficulties in mission performance.

Therefore, the High Command of Coast Guard organized a training course on foreign affairs of the Coast Guard in 2020 to equip, foster and consolidate expertise knowledge for the staff who perform foreign affair tasks and other officers who participate in performing tasks related to external activities of the Coast Guard, especially the protocol skills when receiving foreign guests.

Colonel Nguyen Van Hung asked the participants to promote the sense of responsibility, study seriously, actively exchange and share experiences while lecturers, with their qualifications and experience, to transfer knowledge to their trainees so that this training session can achieve the best results.
