Deputy Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Russia held a phone call to discuss expanding cooperation, with a highlight being Russia’s proposal to build a modern school in Vietnam.
On August 22, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Chairman of the Vietnam Subcommittee of the Vietnam - Russian Federation Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, held a phone call with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Nikolayevich Chernyshenko, Chairman of the Russian Subcommittee.

Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).
The two Deputy Prime Ministers agreed to continue effectively implementing the signed documents and cooperation agreements, as well as the directives from the two countries' top leaders, in order to further deepen the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko praised the positive outcomes in economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries. He proposed that both sides continue executing the roadmap for the master plan on cooperation development through 2030, especially in the fields of industry, agriculture, healthcare, and commerce.
Both parties agreed to enhance coordination to resolve obstacles and promote exports to each other's markets and to the Eurasian Economic Union, focusing on strong sectors such as agriculture, food, textiles, and consumer goods.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized the vast potential for cooperation in economic, trade, and investment relations, as well as opportunities for market expansion between the two countries.
In the energy sector, the two sides discussed collaboration on oil and gas exploration, the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) products, and LNG-related projects. They also addressed challenges related to the implementation of the nuclear power plant project in Ninh Thuan.

In the fields of science, technology, education, and humanities, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha welcomed Russia’s initiative to build a Russian school in Vietnam with a modern educational curriculum, recognizing the project as highly significant.
Additionally, Hanoi has allocated a location and is ready to coordinate with Moscow in implementing the "House of Moscow" project in the capital city.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also praised Russia’s longstanding efforts in training high-quality human resources for Vietnam, with current focus areas including energy, digital transformation, science, technology, and the arts.
Vietnam expressed its desire for continued support from Russia in training experts capable of mastering and operating technology in bilateral cooperation projects. Vietnam also indicated its readiness to collaborate with Russia in the field of artificial intelligence.
At the conclusion of the phone call, both Deputy Prime Ministers affirmed their willingness to discuss any issues to promote comprehensive cooperation. They instructed relevant ministries and sectors to promptly prepare content for the upcoming session of the Vietnam - Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also proposed the early organization of high-level discussions and meetings between governments and ministries to address urgent and important issues related to investment cooperation projects, including nuclear power, multi-disciplinary technical centers, and expanding trade and investment between businesses from both nations.
