PG – the job for beautiful female students

PG (promotion girl) is now the choice of many female students, who believe that this is an easy but high-income job. The thing they have to do is to introduce products to consumers.

Lan, a third year student of the Power University, said she is now a marketing officer for a coffee brand. She has good looking appearance and she is 1.70 meters tall, which is enough for her to earn big money.

Lan receives VND400,000 for every working shift as PG, which lasts 4-5 hours. Sometimes she has three working hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon as per the request by the employer. Since Tet nears, Lan gets busier these days, because the boss wants to push up the marketing for his beer products. As Lan has more working hours, she receives more money every day.

Kim, a second year student of the Hoa Binh University, said she feels satisfactory with the extra jobs, even though she is very busy on pre-Tet days.

“I can earn VND3 million just after some weeks of working as PG,” Kim said, revealing that she is a marketing officer for sweets brands, including Huu Nghi and Kinh Do.

“It’s wonderful that you can receive pay right after you finish your working shifts,” she said. After finishing a working shift, Kim would hurry leave the place for another, where she needs to promote sales for another brand.

Kim does not have time to relax at home, because she is on the works from the morning till night. However, she said she needs to work to get money to pay her tuitions, especially when PG is an easy job.

Traps lurking female students

Kim feels satisfactory with the income of VND3 million for a couple of weeks working. However, the beautiful girls like her can earn more, if they accept the jobs as marketing officers for wine brands.

However, this seems to be a “dangerous job” for girls. In general, the PG have to go to bars and karaoke shops to introduce products, where they may face harassment

Trang from the University of Culture said that she saw many men taking liberties with women and with her at the bars where she came to do the marketing.

“A man asked me about the price of a pack of cigarette, but he tried to cuddle me,” she said.

“I was frightened, but I still had to smile, or I would be sacked,” she added.

Trang said PG at bars is really a risky job. In general, when she introduces wine products, she would be forced to drink together with customers. One time, when Trang refused to drink, a man told her that he would call her boss and ask to sack her.

Some friends of Trang’s decided to give up the job just after some days of working. However, Trang still has been working, because she needs money to pay for tuitions and cover her basic needs. Besides, Trang said, working would help her improve the life skills.

Nga, a PG, agrees with Trang, saying that the workers with firm stuff would be able to survive and earn money with their authentic jobs.
