L’Espace will present a screening of Il eùtait une foreât (Once upon a Forest) on April 7 and 9.
A scene from the movie Once upon a Forest.
A production by Luc Jacquet — director of the Oscar-winning March of the Penguins, the 78-minute movie takes a fascinating journey with renowned French botanist and ecologist Francis Halleù into the tropical rainforests of the Peruvian Amazon and Gabon.
Botanist Halleù has spent almost his entire life deep in the rainforests of the world to document its wide array of life.
He wishes to share the story of this unique ecosystem and show us how both tiny ants and mighty elephants play a role in the lives of majestic thousand-year-old trees.
Director Jacquet uses powerful telephoto lenses and drones to show us the rainforest in ways that have never before been seen on film.
Combined with animations based on Halleù’s drawings, Once upon a Forest makes for an informative and spectacular view of the ancient ecosystem.
The screening on April 7 will be at 8pm, while the one on April 9 will be at 6pm.
Tickets cost VNĐ50,000, and VNĐ40,000 for L’Espace members and students. L’Espace is at 24 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi.
