From its modest beginnings to its present stature as one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic destinations, Suoi Tien has evolved into more than just an amusement park - it is a place where heritage is celebrated, stories come alive, and generations find shared meaning.

Deputy General Director Bui Thi To Trinh, one of the park’s earliest contributors, reflects on a journey built from the ground up - one defined by resilience, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to cultural preservation.
A journey built brick by brick
The early days of Suoi Tien were far from today’s grand scale. The theme park began with humble structures and a small, dedicated team. “Back then, Suoi Tien wasn’t as expansive or sophisticated as it is today,” Ms. Trinh recalled. “Each day, we witnessed a new wall rise or a fresh coat of paint finish a project. It truly felt like every team member was laying each brick by hand.”

Work was both demanding and all-encompassing. Staff members took on multiple roles - from welcoming guests to selling tickets and assisting with operations across departments. “During Tet, we worked from sunrise to nightfall. It was exhausting, but every smile from a satisfied visitor made the effort worthwhile.”
While Suoi Tien’s physical growth - through larger grounds, modern attractions, and national-scale events - has been significant, Ms. Trinh emphasizes a deeper transformation. “Over time, we realized that every task, no matter how small, was contributing to a much bigger narrative. Each role became part of Suoi Tien’s evolving legacy.”
An enchanted first encounter
Even now, the first encounter with Suoi Tien remains vivid. “It felt like stepping into a Vietnamese fairy tale,” Ms. Trinh shared. “Every corner echoed folklore and legend. It was enchanting - unlike anything I’d experienced before.”
When asked to summarize Suoi Tien in three words, she chose: culture, creativity, and warmth. “Culture is our bedrock. Creativity allows us to evolve. Warmth is what people feel the moment they arrive - through every interaction, every detail, every smile.”

This balance of innovation and tradition has long guided the park’s philosophy. Rather than following transient trends, Suoi Tien draws strength from Vietnamese mythology and heritage. Every attraction, from design to concept, is crafted to evoke memory and meaning - making each visit both entertaining and culturally enriching.
Staying rooted in tradition amid rapid change
In an era of globalization and constant innovation, Suoi Tien continues to place culture at the center of its development. “We always begin with a question,” Ms. Trinh explained. “‘What traditional value are we highlighting, and how can it be expressed in a way that connects with today’s audiences?’”
This approach is visible in attractions like Tien Dong - Ngoc Nu Beach, a modern waterpark infused with the legendary tale of Lac Long Quan and Au Co. Another example is Long Hoa Thien Bao Pagoda, which seamlessly weaves Buddhist philosophy into architectural and spiritual experiences, offering both reflection and recreation.
Cultural transmission also happens through Suoi Tien’s signature events, including the annual Southern Fruit Festival. The festival not only promotes regional agriculture and culinary diversity but also revives legendary tales such as the battle of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh through dynamic performances and themed experiences.
Expanding horizons, sustaining values
Beyond cultural storytelling, Suoi Tien has broadened its scope in response to contemporary needs and aspirations. One of the park’s proudest achievements is the successful launch of Suoi Tien Farm during the COVID-19 pandemic. This urban agriculture model allows visitors to harvest fresh, VietGAP-certified fruits - bringing together sustainability, health, and interactive learning.
In addition, Son Tien Eco-tourism City in Dong Nai marks a milestone in eco-conscious development. This modern resort complex champions environmental awareness while preserving the spirit of Vietnamese hospitality and leisure.

Internationally, Suoi Tien has strengthened its global presence by welcoming foreign guests and participating in cultural exchange programs. By doing so, it extends Vietnamese values beyond borders - sharing the beauty of its traditions with the world.
For Ms. Trinh, the most rewarding moments are often quiet and personal. “When a child listens intently to a legend, or a foreign visitor stops in awe at a statue or carving - that’s when it all comes together. Those moments remind us why we do this.”
Honoring the past, embracing the future
Looking back over three decades, Ms. Trinh expresses deep pride and gratitude. “To be part of Suoi Tien’s story from the beginning has been a blessing. This isn’t just a park that has grown in size - it’s a place that has awakened cultural pride in countless people.”

The 30-year milestone represents both an accomplishment and a starting point. “It lays the foundation for the next chapter - a renewed journey where the dream of a Suoi Tien shaped by national identity continues to be passed from one generation to the next.”
As the day draws to a close and laughter drifts through the park, the legacy of Suoi Tien endures in every sound, structure, and smile. This is more than an amusement park - it is a cultural sanctuary where past and present meet, where the spirit of Vietnam lives on in vivid color and joyful celebration.
Suoi Tien remains not only a destination, but a narrative - a living story crafted with care, sustained by passion, and shaped by the dreams of a nation.
