A number of significant sporting fixtures in the nation have faced delays due to fears surrounding the recent outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), with the Super Cup 2020 switching from February to March.

Le Xuan Son, head of the Super Cup 2020’s organising board, stated that due to the COVID-19 epidemic undergoing a series of complicated developments, the organisers have been forced to take steps to prioritise the safety and health of fans.

As a result of these precautions, the Super Cup will either be taking place in front of an empty stadium, or alternatively both Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC will be allowed to have 100 of their fans enter the stadium, with the final decision to be made at a later date.

A press conference to announce some of the details surrounding the match will be held at 2pm on February 29 at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
