VietNamNet Bridge – The General Department of Sports and Physical Training has asked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to address organizational tasks and resume the old name V-League.

In the first month of the football season 2012, many incidents happened. At Lach Tray stadium (Hai Phong), Vinh stadium (Nghe An) and Thong Nhat stadium (HCM City), fans exploded flares and surrounded, threw bricks and stone to the guest teams.

In many matches, players made dangerous mistakes and behaved badly. Disputes between football clubs and referees appeared in the third round of Super Leage, between Song Lam Nghe An FC with referee Vu Bao Linh and Khanh Hoa FC with referee Bui Quang Thong.

Facing a lot of incidents, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training on February 2, asked VFF to guide the Vietnam Professional Football (VPF) company, which runs professional football tournaments (Super League and First Division), to address organizational tasks.

The department also asked VFF to resume the name V-League, not using the new name Super League any more. The agency reasoned that the name of the national football championship is the significant factor to define the origin of the country where the tournament is held and the name must be in the language of that country.
