Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, Head of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control has sent a message to the costal provinces from Da Nang to Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the relevant ministries to ask them to actively deal with the evolution of typhoon Bopha.
The Minister requested these locations and agencies to notify all vehicles the location, direction and the development of the storm so they can actively get out or not go into the dangerous zone.
These locations and agencies were also asked to to regularly monitor the development of the storm, count and tightly manage vessels, especially those operating in Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands.
The Minister also suggested these provinces and agencies preparing forces and equipment for rescue activities.
Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Meteorological Forecasts, on the morning of December 5, Bopha was in the waters of the Philippines, with winds of up to 120km per hour. In the next 24 hours, the storm will move west - northwest at a speed of about 20 km per hour.
On the morning December 6, the storm will be about 260 km north-east from Song Tu Tay Island (Spratly Islands). In the next 1-2 days, it will move slowly toward the northwest at a speed of about 5 km per hour.
Under the impact of the storm, today wind in the southeast region of the East Sea will become stronger, to level 9 then to level 11.
