Forecasters stated that at 7:00 p.m. on April 19, the super typhoon was located at 14.1 degrees north latitude and 126.3 degrees east longitude. This is approximately 270km east of the central coast of the Philippines, with the strongest winds near its centre reaching between 200km and 220km per hour.

Moving forward, between 7:00 a.m. on April 22 and 7:00 a.m. on April 24, the weather pattern is anticipated to travel north before changing its direction to north-east at speeds of between 15km and 20km per hour.

Due to the movement of the super typhoon, local fishermen and crew members have been advised to regularly monitor weather forecasts and stay updated on the developments of the typhoon and tropical depression whilst seeking out safe shelter.
