Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) coordinates with the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs (Ministry of Education and Training), Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) and The Department of Children (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) organized the summary and awarding of the 2023 online contest "Students with information security".

The contest aims to propagate and provide knowledge and skills to use the Internet safely and effectively for students and parents across the country; Create a healthy, useful playground, promote students' thinking ability, help them identify and prevent risks of insecurity in the online environment.

Former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Chairman of VNISA Nguyen Thanh Hung said that this is the second year the contest has been organized with the overarching goal of creating conditions for middle school students nationwide to have Add knowledge and skills to protect yourself from unsafe risks when studying, playing, and interacting on the Internet.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Director of the Vietnam Cyber Emergency Response Center (VNCERT/CC), Ministry of Information and Communications, said that the Internet is entering all aspects of social life, many children have the opportunity to access and use the Internet every day.

Besides the benefits that come from accessing the Internet, this environment also brings many dangers to children, from access to negative and harmful information leading to the risk of being bullied, scammed, even abused, endangering life. This shows that equipping children with knowledge and skills about cyber information security is very important. In building "digital capacity", an essential capacity of citizens in the current era, information security is always an important pillar.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan assessed that the contest not only propagates but also contributes to equipping students and parents with knowledge and skills to use the Internet safely. The contest is a practical activity to implement the "Program to protect and support children in healthy and creative interactions in the online environment for the period 2021 - 2025", approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 830 /QD-TTg, June 1, 2021.

According to the Organizing Committee, after 3 weeks the official exam attracted 740,250 students from 5,417 secondary schools across the country. The results of the top 100 candidates based on scores and exam time are distributed in 41/63 localities. At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Within the framework of the program, a discussion "Protecting children's data and preventing harmful information in cyberspace: From policy, awareness to technology" and an exhibition displaying information and documents on cyberspace will also take place. protect children online.
