VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese Government has issued a decree on in vitro fertilization techniques and surrogacy conditions for humanitarian purposes.

 VietNamNet Bridge – Only three obstetrics hospitals should initially be allowed to introduce surrogacy, an assisted reproductive technique in which a woman carries a child in her uterus for another person,

 VietNamNet Bridge - The Ministry of Health plans to appoint three hospitals in the North, the Central Region and the South, to perform surrogate services.

 VietNamNet Bridge - Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Nguyen Viet Tien says that the demand for surrogacy in Vietnam is fairly low, so the ministry will select only a few reliable hospitals to provide medical services for surrogacy.

 VietNamNet Bridge – The National Assembly on Thursday ratified the amended Marriage & Family Law, which allows surrogacy in the country. However, the issue of same-sex marriage is still out of the scope of this law.
