Police officers in the central province of Khanh Hoa have arrested a man who allegedly placed a bomb at the provincial police chief’s house on July 30.




At a press briefing on August 1, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department Colonel Dang Van Manh said that after investigating the scene, local police identified a prime suspect, Nguyen Viet Truong, Director of the Song Lo Company Ltd., The suspect was in possession of a large amount of explosives.

Later the same day, police raided Truong’s house at No. 2 Thuy Xuong, Phuong Son Ward, Nha Trang, and his workplace in Suoi Cat commune in Cam Lam district, where they discovered 475 detonators, 30.4 kilograms of explosives, and related documents.

The culprit, 52, confessed that he himself made the bomb and caused the explosion at the house of Colonel Tran Ngoc Khanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Police Department on July 30.

He told the police he aimed to paralyse the police investigation into serious allegations of wrongdoings in his business.
