Men drink gold



Nguyen Thong Street in Saigon is the home to wine shops, and all kinds of imported wines are sold. Customers can buy wine bottles worth thousands or even tens of thousand USD.

Some shops sell wine containing gold. Sellers said that this kind of wine can help humans live longer and be stronger in sex.

Gold is laminated and put into wine glasses. Drinkers have to shake bottles strongly to make gold pieces dissolve into the wine.

“Human stomachs cannot absorb gold, but wine producers state that they can process gold that can be absorbed by the human body,” a wine salesman said.

A gold wine imported from Australia is advertised as follows: “pure gold scabs will melt immediately in your mouth, giving you a golden energy and raise your living style.”

Another brand of gold wine form Germany is introduced “pure gold scab will bring about luxurious and noble beauty and add Au to the body.”

“This kind of wine contains gold dust. It can make your skin smooth and ruddy and enhance your vitality. This product is the best gift for your boss,” a salesman advertised for his gold wine from South Korea.

Women have bath with gold



Because of the great passion for gold, people try to use them in different ways. Mr. Thanh, a cosmetic trader in District 2, HCM City said that many customers favored shower cream with gold.

Thanh said he bought this product from those who went overseas. He showed off a 800ml shower cream bottle, which is produced in France and introduced: “This product is made from 24k gold. You have to massage your body gently by your hands, with this shower cream, to help gold to absorb into your body.”

Ms. Kim Tuyen, manager of the Spa Queen in Phu Nhuan district, HCM City, said that like many other beauty salons, Spa Queen also uses gold as a material in skin care methodology.

The price for a gold mask treatment at this beauty salon is VND800,000 ($40). “Gold powder is imported from Japan. We will cover customers’ faces with this powder for 30 minutes or one hour and then wash it off.”

The gold powder that this beauty salon uses is a mixture of powder and gold dust. Asking Tuyen that whether customers can bring gold with them to the beauty salon, the answer was ‘no’ because “we do not have equipment to grind gold.”

Some beauty salons noisily advertise the effect of ‘nano gold’ though scientists said that gold is an unchanged and un-oxidized element.

An employee of a beauty salon on Ly Tu Trong Street, HCM City, confirmed: “It is useless to use gold in normal way like covering customers’ faces by thin gold layer or gold powder. Our beauty salon has modern equipment to shoot nano gold molecular to faces for easy absorption.”

Nano gold is also bottled. A collagen gold bottle is priced VND1 million ($50). Ms. Tuyen, manager of the Spa Queen, said that customers who use gold mask treatment are mainly women of over 40, who believe that gold can help them maintain their beauty and youthfulness.

Gold cakes



There is a bakery in District 3, HCM City where sells gold cakes. These cakes are decorated nicely and covered with a thin layer of gold dust.

A seller introduced: “A normal cake is VND220,000 ($10). A cake with gold dust is VND499,000 ($25)”.

“The bigger the gold-covered cake is, the higher price is. If you want a big cake, you have to place order several days in advance so we have sufficient time to design and process gold dust,” the seller said.

“Is it safe for children to eat gold?” The woman answered: “This kind of gold is very safe for children. It can also help cure all kind of diseases. What is better than gold?”

Contacting a company that sells gold powder for beauty salons and food processing enterprises, an employee said: “Our gold is of the best quality. It is VND140,000 ($7) for 20gr in the market but we sell 20grm for only VND60,000 ($3)”.

Another company quoted VND400,000 ($20) per 1kg of gold dust.

What kind of gold dust is for people to eat and aestheticized when it is only $20 per kilo while the market price for one tael of gold is VND43 million ($2,100).

Recently, police seized some people who made gold powder from metal powder which is used to polish bronze products.
