Singer and rapper Mapei

Mapei is a Swedish-American, born and raised with her Latin American blood inherited from her mother. Mapei faced the difficulties of racism growing up because of the color of her skin. However, with her unique artistry, Mapei has created a distinct musical language and her songs always carry meaningful and powerful messages.

Often compared to iconic artists such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and Mary J. Blige, Mapei possesses a warm and catchy voice that is full of character, through which she has garnered many fans over the years.

She is best known for her single “Don't Wait,” which was released via Downtown Records in 2013. Her latest album Hey Hey, the majority of which was produced by Sky Ferreira and Katy Perry collaborator Magnus Lidehall, was issued later in the year. Mapei is currently gearing up to release a new album and recently unveiled singles “Sensory Overload” and “Rise Up”.

Mapei has today gone from being only a rapper to an artist that also attracts new fans with her soulful sound. Her global recognition was demonstrated in 2015 when Mapei was a guest at the David Letterman show.

Coming to the concert “Mapei: Live in Vietnam”, the audience will have an opportunity to enjoy the most famous hits by Mapei such as Don't Wait, Hey Hey, Orphan, Rise Up, Blame It on Me, and Baby It's You.

With her powerful, smooth and emotional voice, Mapei will take the audience on a journey of exploring modern Soul music. In addition, her accompanying DJ Simona will bring the audience to its feet with her mixes of the most popular hit songs on the stage of Soul Live Project Complex, a new music and art hub in the city.

“It is my first time in Asia. I have always been attracted to Vietnam because I have heard about its culture and people from friends and seen a lot of perspectives in movies. It is the tour I have been looking forwards to the most these past years,” said Mapei.

The concert is co-organized by Amberstone Media and the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam. Tickets cost VND250,000 per person, with a special prize of VND120,000 for students.
