Thach Thi Lap and Thanh Lai met on a social network. Lap said she was curious and tried to learn more about the man, because this was the first time Lap had seen a man who was small like herself.

After making friends, Hai took the initiative in starting a conversation with Lap and they officially began dating. The love that comes from empathy and understanding has led to a strong attachment to each other.

Thanh Hai and Thach Thi Lap are called a ‘tiny couple’ because Hai is 1.25 meters tall, while his wife is 1.20 meters. Lap is a pharmacist, while Hai works as a YouTuber.

Hai and Lap said they stopped growing in height when they entered primary school. At that moment, they discovered the difference between them and friends of the same age.

Facing teasing from friends and people, Hai and Lap nevertheless lead optimistic lives.

“Even disabled people can do many things. I am small, but I still have hands and feet, so I have to make every effort to live well,” Lap said.

After three months of dating on social network, they decided to introduce each other to families and friends. And after 1.5 years of dating, they got married.

The marriage is full of happiness for the young couple. Lap said Hai is a caring person and always shares work with the wife. Hai said his wife is "wonderful" and there’s nothing to complain about her.

Hai and Lap recently appeared on the ‘Manh ghep hoan hao’ (two perfect halves) TV show. When MC Thanh Van asked about childbirth, Lap felt a bit sad, because she cannot become pregnant.

Van said she believes that though the couple cannot have children, they will still be happy because of many other things in their lives. Both of them feel very lucky as they can find a partner with the same condition.

The couple said many normal things in life are a challenge for them. For example, they have to use a chair if they want to get things from above. They cannot drive motorbikes and they need to be carried when they want to go from another place to another. It is also very difficult to buy clothes and footwear because there are not small sizes.

However, both Hai and Lap said they are optimistic about life. Their life is peaceful and they never quarrel.
