VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Thi Anh Vien sealed another hat-trick of swimming gold medals in the ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) yesterday, June 25, in Ha Noi.

The swimmer began her domination in the girls' 100m freestyle with a time of 58.69 seconds, followed by Tanchanok Sangsawang from Thailand (59.92sec) and Vietnamese Ho Nhat Song Vy (1:00.35).
In the 200m backstroke, Vien, who became the first athlete from Viet Nam to seal their place at Spain's world championships later this year, yet again romped to victory.
She finished with a time of 2:17.33, trailed by Nurul Fajar Fitriyati from Indonesia and Naipaporn Vorawech of Thailand.
Vien's completed her hat-trick with gold in the 200m individual medley event. She took the race with a time of 2:18.94, while second and third were Erika Kong Chia Chia of Malaysia and Pornsuda Viniyompong of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Le Thi Viet Trinh became Viet Nam's second gold medallist when she clocked 1:14.33 to win the girls' 100m breaststroke event.
Malaysian duo Nadia Adrianna Redza and Koh Jia Yi grabbed the two runners-up spots.
With 16 gold medals, Viet Nam leapt to the top of the rankings yesterday.
Malaysia were in second place with six gold medals, and Thailand were third with five golds.
The ASG is an annual sports festival for regional students. This year, more than 1,500 participants are competing in nine events. The Games will conclude on July 6.
